Carthage - Aaron D. Lagabed, 53, of 318 Furnace St., died Friday afternoon, January 11, 2013, in the Emergency Room of the Carthage Area Hospital after being stricken with a heart attack at his residence.

Mr. Lagabed was born in Sodus, NY on August 1, 1959, the son of the late Aaron and Faith Stevens Lagabed. He was a graduate of Sodus High School and received an AAS degree from Florida State College. A previous marriage to the former Deborah Hall ended in divorce. Aaron worked for many years for David Johnson in Carthage. He had been employed at Valero's and Dunkin Donuts and was currently working as a machine operator at Metro Paper in Carthage.

He is survived by his daughter, Tabatha F. Lagabed of Carthage, his step-children; Mindy, William and Jeffrey Smith, all of Carthage, a sister; Trenna of Sodus, two brothers; Richard and Lenny, both of Clermont, Florida, two nieces and one nephew.

Per his wishes the body will be cremated. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
