Carthage - Albert D. Rounds, 79, of 222 State St. Apt. #1002, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in the Carthage Area Hospital.

Albert was born in Carthage on December 18, 1936, the twin son of the late William and Stella Doxtater Rounds. He attended West Carthage and Carthage High Schools. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He married the former Patricia M. Durant on September 8, 1962 at the Carthage United Methodist Church. He was a millwright for the St. Regis Paper Company for 42 years, retiring from Champion International in Deferiet. He later worked for P&C Foods in West Carthage for 6 years.


He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Rounds of Carthage, three daughters: Kimberley Morrison of LaFargeville and Shannon Chandler and Dana Tooly, both of Carthage, 7 Grandchildren, two sisters: Patricia Fuller and Lillian Berg, both of Rome, one brother: David Rounds of West Carthage and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A granddaughter, Shauna Lynn Tooly died in 2002 and 3 brothers, his twin Alfred and William and Wilbur Rounds and 3 sisters, Pauline, Barb and Lela died previous.

Graveside services will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage in the spring. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
