Bruce Allen Spencer, 63, of West Side Terrace, West Carthage, was stricken at his residence and passed away on Monday morning, April 8,2024 in West Carthage.

Bruce was born on December 24,1960 in Carthage, the son of the late James J. and Marsha A. (Hewett) Spencer. He attended Beaver River Central School and served with the U.S. Army shortly after his education. His entire career was in the construction field, working for various contractors in the North Country. He was working on Fort Drum as a foreman when he was seriously injured in 1998 and has been disabled ever since.

Bruce enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and going to the beaches, especially Wilson Bay and Lake Bonaparte. He also loved playing cards and was an avid football and NASCAR fan. He was known for being a great father, friend, and above all "Grumpa" (his grandpa nickname).

He is survived by his children, Tiffany (Derek) Wutzke of Antioch, CA, Jake (Nicole) Spencer of Antioch, CA, Brenna Spencer (Travis Deaner) of Clayton and Jenny Spencer of Cape Vincent, his grandchildren, Connor Spencer, Brooke Deaner, Keira Spencer, Adalynn Spencer, Haylee Spencer, Ashton Deaner and Renley Wutzke, his siblings, Michael Spencer, West Carthage, Amy Smith of Lima, NY and Diana Chaffee of Carthage. He is predeceased by his son, Bruce Jacob Spencer who died in infancy and a brother, Timothy Spencer.
