Obituary
Carthage - Carol Irene Olmstead, 67, of 40094 Co. Rt. # 40, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 10, 2015, at her residence.
Carol was born in Utica on September 20, 1947, the daughter of the late Carl and Mildred Meeker Olmstead. She attended schools in Oneida and Watertown and received her GED several years later. She worked as a domestic for several families in the Carthage area for many years. Her long time companion, Dewey Genito operated a refuse business in Carthage and she helped in the operation of that business. Mr. Genito died on October 4, 2012.
She is survived by two sons and their wives: Carlton and Melanie Olmstead of St. Joseph, Missouri and Marc and Jody Sheltray, with whom she lived of Carthage and 2 grandsons, C. W. Olmstead and Chris Olmstead. She is predeceased by a brother, Richard Olmstead and her companion, Dewey Genito.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Old St. James Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours will precede the funeral service on Tuesday from 12-2pm.
