Claude H. Williams, 77, of 8 Rulison St., died Saturday evening, October 29, 2016 after being stricken at his home.

Claude was born July 2, 1939 in New Bremen, the son of the late Tell and Mary (Pasternack) Williams. He was a graduate of Lowville Academy and attended JCC. He married the former Jean Nevills on November 29, 1958 at St. James Church in Carthage.

He was employed by the former St. Regis Paper Company and later Champion International in Deferiet as a Supervisor and retired after more than 30 years of service. After retirement, he drove school bus for the Indian River School District for 10 years. He was an avid tennis player, snow skier and sailor. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Pleasant Lake for many years.

He was a member of the BPOE # 1762 Lodge of Carthage.

He is survived by his wife: Jean of West Carthage, three daughters: Dr. Debra Williams of Carthage, Christine Yarzabek of Warren, PA and Michelle Brady of Carthage, one son: David Williams of Carthage,11 Grandchildren, two brothers: Gerald Williams of Tennessee and Tell Williams of Indiana and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held privately by the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
