David A. Mono, Sr., 89, of Route # 3, Carthage, died Wednesday evening, September 12, 2018 at home in Carthage.

David was born on August 5, 1929 in Carthage, the son of the late John and Dora (O'Dett) Mono.  He attended Augustinian Academy, then later served with the U.S. Army in 1947. He married the former Catherine A. Hamilton on March 14, 1948 in Carthage. Cassie, a longtime waitress at the Superior Restaurant in Carthage, died on March 29, 2008. For many years, David worked in the maintenance department of AMF in Lowville. After retiring from AMF, he worked at Sam's Club in Watertown.

He is survived by two daughters and their spouses: Patricia and Robert Smith of Calcium and Tina and Jeff Hinckley of Malden, MA, one son and his wife: David A. and Lisa Mono Jr. of Carthage, 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren and two sisters, Sherry and Sheila.

He is predeceased by his son, Phillip Mono who died on September 30, 2010.

All services will be held privately by the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Carthage.
