David J. Sears, 72, of 6706 Old State Road, Natural Bridge, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Carthage Area Hospital.

David was born on December 18, 1945 in Watertown, the son of the late Kenneth W. and Mary V. (Washburn) Sears. He was a graduate of Carthage Central High School. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967.  He married Donna M. Martin on August 1, 1979 in Croghan.  David worked for many years as a welder at Viking-Cives Inc. in Harrisville.

He is survived by his wife: Donna M. Sears of Natural Bridge , two daughters: Janet Sears of Carthage and Tracy Sears of Harrisville, one son and his companion: Jason Sears and Teri Tyner of Carthage, two step sons, David (Shannon) Yousey and Dale (Tasha) Yousey all of SC, 11 Grandchildren, two sisters: Karen Huntley of Syracuse and Linette Sears of SC, four brothers: Michael Sears of Schenectady, Kevin Sears of Natural Bridge, Peter (Sherry) Sears of Carthage  and Randall (Tracy) Sears of FL and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his step son, Eddie Yousey and a brother, Kenneth Sears.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 14 at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage with Deacon Richard Staab officiating. Calling hours will precede the services from 1-3pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
