CARTHAGE - Donald J. Fox of 514 Cemetery Street, died Thursday evening at Carthage Area Hospital. Mr. Fox worked as a Stock Prep Supervisor at the former Crown Zellerbach Mill for 44 years, retiring in 1990.

Born June 5, 1928 in the Town of Harrisburg, son of Fred J. and Myrtle Brockway Fox, he graduated from Lowville Free Acadamy in 1945.
He married the former Rosemary "Sally" Dionne on August 15, 1946, at the home of the Rev. Howard A. Griswold on Deer River Road with the Rev. Mr. Griswold officiating. Mrs. Fox died on October 9, 1999.

Surviving Mr. Fox is his long time companion, Linda Pate, three sons, Frederick J. and Diana, Marshall, Minn., Steven J. and Theresa, Carthage, and Randy J. and Virginia, Hutchinson, Minn., a daughter, Pamala Fox Clodfelter, Carthage, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A daughter, Nancy Johnson, a brother, Kenneth, and a great-great granddaughter Alexis died previously.

Spring burial will be in Barnes Corners Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
