Obituary

Carthage - Elizabeth M. Trombley, 90, of 323 N. Washington St., died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at her residence where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Elizabeth was born on the Rogers Crossing Road, Carthage on June 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Edwin M. and Eulena Pate Clark. She attended school on the Rogers Crossing Road, Carthage High School and the Utica School of Commerce. She married Amos O. Trombley on August 22, 1942 in Carthage. Mr. Trombley died on September 13, 2002. She was a clerk at the former Daffy Duscount in Carthage for several years.


Elizabeth was a member and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #789 of Carthage, the VFW Auxiliary Post # 7227, Carthage and the Ave Maria Circle.


She is survived by one daughter: Barbara E. (James) Campbell of Dolgeville, three sons: Melvin E. (Leanna)Trombley of Harrisville, Maynard A. (Cindy) Trombley of Natural Bridge and Gary P. Trombley of Carthage, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Marjorie Gerber died previous.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. George F. Maroun, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday from 10:30am until the time of the service. Funeral arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
