CARTHAGE- Emily M. (Watson) Blaschke, 86, formerly of Alexandria St., Carthage, died peacefully on Wednesday evening, August 6, 2025, under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County. She was born on July 30, 1939, in Carthage, New York, to the late Floyd Harry & Ruth Marline (Greenwood) Watson. She graduated from Carthage High School. She married Earl Kimball on October 1, 1955; the marriage ended in divorce.
She married Robert W. Blaschke on April 24, 1965, in Bristol, Connecticut. He owned and operated Blaschke Plumbing and Heating in Carthage. Emily was devoted to her faith and was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church, Carthage. Emily retired from Climax Manufacturing after 45 years of service as a supervisor. In her retirement, she could often be found with a friendly smile behind the front desk at the Carthage Family Chiropractic office two days a week.
She is survived by four daughters: Julia Blaschke (Cal Shaw) of Beaver Falls, Chris (Jeff) Loomis of Carthage, Shelly (Jim) Kent of Adams and Marcella Griffith of Kansas, one son: Jeff (Barb) Kimball of Carthage, a son-in-law, Matthew Clarke of Watertown, 9 Grandchildren, Kimberly (Dale) Munn, Carthage; Melody Lee, Kentucky; Irena Juarez, Arizona; Tiffany O'Connor; Black River; Robert (Beth) Clarke, Carthage; Jacob Clarke, Watertown; Emily Clarke & her companion, Seth, of Oswego; and Matthew Ablan, Michigan; along with her 19 Great Grandchildren, Madalyn, Logan, Ryan, Cecelia, Olivia, Alice, Paige, Isabella, Matthew, Hannah, Hailey, Amelia, Jackson, Scarlett, Ashton, Andrea, Alisa, Bryce, and Brookyln; her siblings, Judith Franklin, Georgia; and Marilyn (Danny) Womack, Tennessee; her two brother in laws: Richard Blaschke of Bristol, CT and David (Sandy) Blaschke of Leesburg, FL and several special nieces and nephews.
Emily cherished her time with her family; her family meant everything to her, and she was always supporting and cheering for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their events and creating fond memories at the cottage on the St. Lawrence River, where she loved to fish as a child. Emily adored the holidays, as family truly meant everything to her. She also found great joy in traveling, especially on her trips to the ocean, including Myrtle Beach, Hawaii, and Mexico. Additionally, Emily treasured her time at the cottage on Black Point in Connecticut and the family camps in Montague.
She is predeceased by her husband, Robert, who died in 2021; her grandchildren, Stephanie Duvall, Jessica Fairbrother; a brother, Robert Watson; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Blaschke.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 pm at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, located at 518 State Street, Carthage, NY 13619. Entombment will be held privately by her family in Hillside Cemetery, Champion.
