Watertown - Esther E. Arno, 94, of 27741 State Rt. 126, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Summit Village in Watertown.

Esther was born in St. Regis Falls on August 8, 1919, the daughter of the late Steven and Edna Brown White. She was a graduate of St. Regis Falls High School.  She was united in marriage to Rawlin R .Arno on June 11, 1950 at the Carthage Methodist Church. They were married for 64 blissful years. She was a clerk for the former W.T. Grant's Store from 1950-1959. The couple resided in Carthage for many years until moving to Rutland in 1995.

She was a member of the Carthage Methodist Church and former Post Noble Grand of Rebecca Lodge # 238, Carthage. She was active in her church, Girl Scouts and was a volunteer at the Carthage Area Hospital Gift Shop. She enjoyed cooking, camping, reading and working in her flower gardens. Mrs. Arno devoted much time to her family and friends from every walk of life. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons that will be carried on throughout our family.

She is survived by her husband, Rawlin R. of Rutland, one daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda and William Rogers and a daughter in law Lynn Arno both of Watertown,4 Grandchildren, Shannon (Stephanie) Einbeck of Cicero, MaKenzie, Casey and Jana Rogers all of Watertown, and great grandson Liam Einbeck of Cicero and several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her son, Rodney Arno who died February 21, 2014, 5 sisters, Lenore, Marion, Marjorie, Hilda and Lula and a brother, Bernard White.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage with the Rev. Linda J. Harris officiating . Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Thursday from 4-7pm.
