Frank E. Gokey, 88, of 222 State St., Carthage, died early Sunday morning, November 10,2024 at The Pines at Utica after a brief illness.

Frank was born on October 5,1936 in Constableville, NY, the son of the late Telesphore C. and Ruth (Ruff) Gokey. He was a 1954 graduate of Carthage High School and later attended Oswego College.  He served in the Marine Corps from 1955 to 1958. For 28 years, Frank worked for IBM in New York City as a customer engineer, retiring in 1989 and returning to the north country where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Susan M. Gokey of Watertown and two daughters: Natalie Glover of Fort Mill, SC and Elaina Gokey of Utica; his grandchildren, Sylvia, Sabastian and Genevieve Glover, two sisters: Sharon Schermerhorn and Nancy Traylor, both of Carthage, one brother: Donald Gokey of Carthage, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Eugene Gokey.
