Obituary
Castorland - Gaylord F. Johnson, 74, of 4724 State Rt. # 410, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at his residence.
Gaylord was born in Carthage on July 29, 1939, the son of the late Clyde and Rachel Peets Johnson. He attended school in Carthage. A former marriage to Sharon Sheltray ended in divorce.
He retired in 1997 from Champion International in Deferiet after 28 years of service. He worked in the Groundwood Department for most of those years.
He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by one daughter: Lisa Johnson of Carthage, two sons and a daughter-in-law: Robert and Tina Johnson of Lowville and Brian Johnson of Carthage, 5 Grandchildren, one sister: Sharon Dekin of Carthage, five brothers: Val Peets of Watertown, Nolan Johnson of Watertown, Clyde Johnson of Carthage, and Randy and Dale Johnson, both of West Carthage and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013, 11:00am in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage with the Rev. Robert Barone officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
