Gregory J. Gurnett, 53 of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Carthage, NY, died unexpectedly on February 12, 2019 in Ocala, Florida.

Born on February 17, 1965, Greg attended Carthage Schools thru his junior year and graduated from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1983. He attended Scottsdale Community College, Arizona State University and the University of West Florida, Pensacola.

He was an accomplished jazz pianist and was a featured soloist in the World Jazz Festival in Wegan, England.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Marilyn Gurnett of Sun City West, Arizona, 3 sisters, Karen (Jeffrey) Robinson of Mesa, Arizona, Martha (Alex) Waicelunas of Peoria, Arizona and Tracy (Brad) Roosma of Austin, Texas, 3 nieces and 2 grand nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas F. Gurnett, formerly of Carthage.

All services will be held privately by the family. The Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home is assisting the family.
