Helen R. Chisamore, 88, of Carthage died Sunday evening, April 1, 2018 at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown where she has resided for 4 years.

Helen was born July 12, 1929 in Natural Bridge, the 7 ^th of 12 children of the late Nelson and Eloise (Christman) Camidge.  She married Harold C. Chisamore on June 5, 1948 at the Carthage United Methodist Church.   She was employed at the former Crown Zellerbach Corp. in Carthage in the converting department. The couple wintered in Deltona, Florida for 22 years. Her husband, Harold C. Chisamore died on January 15, 2005.

Helen was a lifelong member of the Carthage United Methodist Church. She loved knitting and made 100's of mittens that were given away at church.

She is survived by her two daughters: Donna E. Oakes of Carthage and Jayne M. (Randy) Riley of Port Orange, FL; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Gaebel Chisamore of Watertown; 8 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren, 3 brothers: Nelson Camidge of Virginia and Emerson and Gene Camidge, both of Carthage and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Luanne Chisamore Jr., a daughter Debra, 4 brothers, Quentin, Cleon, Donald and William Camidge, 4 sisters, Alice Hunkins, Vivian Zeller, Eva Breeze and Rachel Lajuett Gayne and a great-grandson Hunter Runkles.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 4 from 4-7pm at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home in Carthage. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 5 at the Carthage United Methodist Church with Rev. Tracy Cook officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.
