Helen G. Gerace, 95, of 804 Parham St., died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Carthage Area Hospital where she has been a patient for 10 days.

Helen was born December 8, 1920 in Carthage, the daughter of the late Charles and Pasqua (Pavia) Frezza. She married Anthony Gerace on January 9, 1937 at St. James Church in Carthage. She was employed in the converting department of the former Crown Zellerbach Corp. in Carthage for many years and retired several years ago. The couple enjoyed spending their winters in Florida for several years. Mr. Gerace, former water department superintendent for the Village of Carthage died on July 8, 2004.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and entertaining and cooking for family and friends in her home. She was a member of St. James Church, Carthage.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Patricia G. Gerace of Carthage, her two grandsons and their wives, James and Kathleen Gerace of Selkirk, NY and Thomas and Lisa Gerace of Carthage, 8 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and nephews.

Helen is predeceased by her son, James A. Gerace who died on May 13, 2009 and two brothers, John and Raymond Frezza.

Graveside services will be held in Old St. James Cemetery, Carthage in the spring at a date to be announced. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
