Watertown - Iva Mae Doris Alberry Haas, 85, of Summit Village, died Friday, September 5, 2014, in the Samaritan Medical Center where she has been a patient for a week.
Mrs. Haas was born in Watertown on September 17, 1928, one of 14 children of the late Richard Benjamin and Cora Bell Wright Alberry. She married Hobart W. Haas on September 20, 1947 at Hope Presbyterian Church in Watertown. The couple operated a farm on Point Salubrious until 1973 and moved to the LaFargeville area where Mr. Haas was employed by Roe Farm Service, Philadelphia, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Haas was a homemaker. The couple recently lived at West Side Terrace in West Carthage.
She is survived by her husband, Hobart W. Haas of Watertown, one daughter: Nancy Fernandez of Schenectady, two sons: Willard I. Haas of Everett, PA and Eric Haas of Natural Bridge, 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, a sister: Vera Nordberg of Gouverneur and a brother: Herman Alberry of Texas and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Glenn Haas and a grandson, Andrew Haas.
There will be a Celebration of Life, held at the Natural Bridge Community Center, starting at Noon on Saturday, September 13th, 2014. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Natural Bridge at a later date. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
