Janet L. Lamendola, 77, of 24228 NYS Rt. # 12, died after a brief illness on Saturday morning, January 14, 2017 at the Samaritan Medical Center.
Janet was born March 14, 1939 in Carthage, the daughter of the late Samuel P. and Dorothy (Baker) Ferris. She attended schools in Carthage. A marriage to Richard E. Countryman ended in divorce. She later was united in marriage to Joseph E. Lamendola on September 23, 1983 in Tylerville. The couple just renewed their wedding vows at a service at Holy Family Church, Watertown on September 23, 2016. She was employed at the former Mercy Hospital in Watertown as a Dietary Clerk for over 20 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling to casinos, scratch off tickets and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: Joseph E. Lamendola of Watertown, three daughters and their husbands: Lorrie and William Craig of Carthage, Dawn and Michael Caldwell of Black River and Lynne and Scott Emerson of Felts Mills, a step daughter, Paula Stuck of Bradenton, FL, two step sons, John (Veronica) Lamendola of Bremen, GA and Michael Lamendola of Cincinnatus, 13 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, a sister: Cindy Childers of Brownville, a brother: Richard Ferris of Carthage and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters, Carol Bohall and Brenda Sue Ferris and a brother, Buddy Ferris.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 18 at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home in Carthage with the Rev. Steven Murray, Pastor of Holy Family Church officiating. Calling hours will precede the memorial service at the funeral home from 4-7pm.
