CARTHAGE – Jasmine J. Solomon, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Born in Carthage on June 14, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Moneera (Kmeid) Solomon.

She graduated from Augustinian Academy. Jasmine was employed at Phillips and Phillips Law Office, AF Mills Insurance Agency, Blunden–White Agency, and Haylor, Freyer & Coon, where she retired from.

She enjoyed volunteering at the Carthage Area Hospital Gift Shop and at the health fairs, she was treasurer of the hospital auxiliary for 15 years. Jasmine worked in the gift shop for over 25 years, was a former member of the Tri County Insurance Women's Association which she was instrumental in forming. She was a member of Professional Secretaries International. She was 1991 Secretary of the Year for Lewis County Chapter of the National Secretary Association, and Volunteer of the Year for Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary 2004.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Jasmine was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.

She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Chofe, sisters, Libbie Solomon Astafan, Chofea Solomon and Marie Solomon Millard, nephews, Robert Astafan and niece, Patricia Astafan Church.

Survived by her brother, Thomas, nephews, John Astafan, Jr., Joseph Millard, Timothy Millard, Gregory Millard, niece, Nancy Astafan Fargo, and brother-in-law, Wilbur Millard.

A funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, December 28th, at 10:00am, at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Todd Thibault, Pastor officiating. Spring burial will be in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorials in Jasmine's name may be made to: St. James Catholic Church.
