Jean E. Andrus, 91, of Route 126, Rutland, passed away on Sunday, March 10,2024 at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown where she has resided since January.

Jean was born on November 15,1932 in Deferiet, the daughter of the late Harold and Leoma (Buck) Grosse. She was a graduate of Augustinian Academy in Carthage.  She married Charles E. Andrus on December 23,1950 at St. Paul's Rectory in Black River with Rev. James A. Fix officiating. Charles, owner of Chuck's Body Shop in Watertown, passed away on January 29, 1999.  Throughout the years, Jean and Chuck enjoyed traveling the United States together. They also took a road trip to Alaska with Cindy and flew to Hawaii with Donna. Jean went on several European vacations with Donna. Jean enjoyed her family and friends.

She is survived by her three daughters: Judy Foy (Stephen) of Watertown, Donna Weston of Albany and Jo Elaine Colvin (Mark) of Mexico, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, her sister: Dorine Miterko of Deferiet and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Cindy Andrus who died on September 18, 2016, and a brother, Richard Grosse.
