Carthage- Jeanne L. Young, 89, formerly of Mosher Road, Carthage, died peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home in Watertown, NY.

She was born on May 13, 1937, in Syracuse to the late George & Adele (Lunde) Hebert.

Jeanne married John E. Young, Jr., on August 10, 1957, in Syracuse, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage, John died on January 19, 2019. The couple lived in the Carthage area since 1977 where John was the owner/operator of North Country Medical in Watertown, and Jeanne was a retired bookkeeper, she was primarily a homemaker. During her retirement years she worked for the Carthage Area Schools in food services.

She was a communicant of St. Rita's Church in Deferiet. Jeanne enjoyed knitting, gardening, she also loved spending time on the boat on the St. Lawrence River.

She is survived by one daughter: Debra J. Loewy and her husband James of Syracuse, two sons and their wives: David John Young and his late companion Michelle Chauppette of Houma, LA and Michael A. (Gretchen) Young of Henderson, four grandchildren, Jonathan Young, Emma Holmes, Alexandra Radziewicz and Ian Young; 5 great grandchildren, Everett Young and Isla, and Delilah Young, Cooper and Rory Holmes and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John and her brother, Paul Hebert.

Memorial services will be held at a date and time to be announced. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, located at 518 State Street in Carthage. Online condolences may be left at www.bezanillafh.com.
