Jeffrey Todd Burto, 62, formerly of West Carthage, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Jeff was born on November 4,1961 in Carthage, the son of the late William M. and Marilyn "Peanut" (Pierce) Burto Lang. He was a 1979 graduate of Carthage Central High School and a 1981 graduate of Jefferson Community College. After graduating from Brockport State in 1983, he worked in a hotel in the Albany area. Jeff moved to the Fort Lauderdale area in 1990. While in Florida, he was the manager of a Marriot Hotel and then joined Sunbound Inc. in 1995, and at the time of his death, he was President-Chief Operating Officer.

He is survived by his partner, Nicholas Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his siblings and their spouses: Darcy and John Delair of Natural Bridge, Timothy and Janet Burto of Port St. Lucie, FL, Thomas Burto of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kevin and Iris Burto of Port St. Lucie, FL, Terry and Karen Burto of Carthage and Kent and Johnna Burto of Carthage, a stepbrother Robert Lang, stepsisters, Carol Mont and Judy Brooks and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Robert Lang and a stepsister, Nancy Cheal.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 4th from 2-5pm at J. Marks in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Jeff will be buried in the Spring with his parents in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.
