CARTHAGE- Joseph Frederick Brady, 90, formerly of Alexandria Street, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Born on November 4, 1935, in Lewisburg, New York, he was the son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Downing) Brady. A graduate of Carthage High School, Joe proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1964. Joe married Saturnina Valadez on October 12, 1960, in San Diego, Texas. He and his late wife were active members of St. James Church in Carthage. As a self-employed owner and operated of the Joseph F. Brady Construction Company, Joe specialized in roofing and siding, he built over 60 garages in the local area. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Allen F. Brady of Sutton, Massachusetts; Gary J. (Grace) Brady of Navarre, Florida; and Jane (David) Doucette of Kennesaw, Georgia; his sister, Rose Brady of Watertown; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Joe was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Nina Brady, in 2008; and his children, Frederick Lee Brady, in 2003, Brenda Mae Brady in 2021, and Monica Molnau in 2024.
Service Information:
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church, with Rev. Todd Thibault officiating. Interment will follow with a military burial in the St. James Catholic Cemetery.
