Kathleen M. (Buckingham) Turner

1960 – 2025

Cathy Turner, age 65, of Calcium, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Richard J. and Genevieve T. (Ablan) Buckingham was born on February 20, 1960, in Watertown, New York. She attended the Augustinian Academy until the 8th grade and graduated from Carthage Central High School in 1978. She had a career in the restaurant industry where her sarcasm & charm can be remembered by many.

She is survived by her daughters, Carrie (Jason) and Melissa.  A grandson, Charlie; her two beloved fur grandsons, Rosco and Sig; her siblings, Richard (Michele) Buckingham, Barbara (Donald) Kohler, and Jimmy (Michele) Buckingham; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Joseph A. Buckingham.

Cathy enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo, visiting Florida and completing crossword puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time at camp with her friends and family and beating them at card games.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 327 West Street, Carthage, NY, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The Rev. Todd E. Thibault will be officiating. Burial will follow in the New St. James Cemetery, located on South James Street, Carthage, NY.
