CARTHAGE - Kaye E. Ashcroft, 78, died late Tuesday evening, February 16, 2016 at Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre with her family at her side.
Mrs. Ashcroft was born March 10, 1937 in Carthage, the daughter of the late Burton E. and Gladys L. (Dimick) Egnew and graduated from West Carthage High School in 1954. Kaye was a paralegal for 49 years working in Watertown for Arthur L. Cohen. She was previously married to Joseph Plumadore.
On May 23, 1974 Kaye married Jerold K. Ashcroft at their home with Justice of the Peace, Pat Marshall, officiating. She loved motorcycle riding, her pets and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her son and daughter-in-law, Kelly D. and Colleen Plumadore; her step daughter, Michele L. Ashcroft; her five grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Dylan, Kendall, and Autumn; her four great grandchildren, Zackery, Alexander, Emma and Adrianna; her brother, Keith E. and his wife Jean Egnew; nieces and nephews.
Kaye is predeceased by her brothers, Edwin R., and Peter B. Egnew; a sister, Joan L. Egnew-Duffer.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Jane E. Wagner of the United Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in new St. James Cemetery.
