It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Lawrence A. "Larry" Hall Jr., who passed away peacefully in Vero Beach, Florida on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Larry was born on October 10, 1948, to the late Lawrence A. Hall Sr. and Doris S. Hall.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Calvary Assembly of God Church, located at 10 Martin Street Road, West Carthage, NY 13619. A Fire Service Memorial will be held at 12pm at the church with the Reverend Canon Samuel P. Lundy, Jefferson County Fire Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Catholic Cemetery.
Larry and Noreen Tanoury were married on February 15, 1975, at St. James Church in Carthage. Both were proud 1966 graduates of the Augustinian Academy in Carthage. For 36 years, Larry dedicated his career to the NYSDOT as a bridge inspector. He was also a prominent figure with the West Carthage Fire Dept, serving more than 55 years in the organization while holding all offices throughout the years. In addition, he was an active member in both NNYVFA (Past President) as well as FASNY. He most recently held the position of Committee Chairman of the Firefighter of the Year Award with FASNY. Larry also served as Lewis Co. Fire Investigator for over 10 years, serving as Chairman for 6 years. Both he and Noreen retired in 2003 and enjoyed spending their winters at their home in Barefoot Bay, Florida, and their summers at the family camp in Oswegatchie, NY.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Nicole T. Hall of Rensselaer, NY, his sister, Karen (Duane) Gulick of Barefoot Bay, Florida and nieces, Wendy Curry and Jeanette George of Palmyra, NY as well as great nieces Emily Curry and Sierra George. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Noreen and his great nephew, Colby George.
Arrangements are in the care of the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, located at 518 State Street in Carthage, NY. Online condolences in his memory can be made at www.bezanillafh.com In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to the West Carthage Fire Department in Larrys honor.
