Linda L. Pate, 78, of West Side Terrace, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Carthage Area Hospital.

Linda was born on March 30, 1940 in Carthage, the daughter of the late Carl Edward and Marion (Gamble) Johnson. She married Richard S. Pate on November 23, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in Carthage with the Rev. Howard Griswald officiating. Linda worked at the former Feistel Nursing Home in Deer River, Braman Manufacturing and worked in the converting department of Crown Zellerbach Corp., retiring due to illness in 1979. Her husband Richard, died on October 3, 1995.

She loved being with family and friends and enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband: Sherri L. and Dominic Bango of Harrisville, two sons and a daughter-in-law: Richard R. and Karen Pate of Carthage and Kevin W. Pate and his companion, Kelly Taylor of Carthage; two brothers: Kenneth (Nancy) Johnson and Carl Johnson (Pam Clodfelter) all of Carthage, 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her 2 sons, Stephen and Jeffrey, a grandson, Jesse Ritz, and 2 sisters, Carol Rucker and Roberta Knight.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 7 at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Rev. Thom Sherwood officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours will be on Friday, July 6 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
