Marcia Maie Bent, 77, of 219 N. Clinton St., Carthage, passed away on Friday morning, January 12, 2024 at the Carthage Area Hospital with her family at her side, as she went home to her Lord Jesus Christ.

Marcia was born on January 14, 1946, in Watertown to the late Chester and Eleanor Coe Bachman.  She attended a country, one room schoolhouse in Naumburg.  She graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1963 as Class Secretary.  Marcia then attended the Watertown School of Commerce, where she met Dean, the Love of her life.  On October 23, 1965, they were married in the Naumburg Methodist Church with the Rev. Stuart McCleary officiating.  Marcia worked at Wager Construction, Watertown, then as an administrative assistant for the Town of Wilna Housing Authority.  She retired after 23 years of service in September of 2008.

Marcia was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage, and a member of the Carthage American Legion Auxiliary for 51 years.  She was also a member of the Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary and would volunteer at the Hospital Gift Shop.  Marcia also belonged to the Red Hat Society.

She enjoyed gardening, and especially reaping the benefits from her raspberry bush, from which she made mouthwatering pies.  Afternoon pinochle with her friends and trips to Turning Stone were also favorites of Marcia.

Surviving Marcia are her loving husband, Dean, two children, daughter Lynne Bent Intorica (Rob Oliver), and son Jeffery Bent (Cherish).  Grandchildren Kyle Bent, Nicholas Intorcia (Karli), Zachary Intorcia (Breana), Tanner and Jillian Bent.  Also surviving is Rudy her Dachshund, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.  Marcia was predeceased by her parents, her big brother, Ronald Bachman, and a son, Michael Todd Bent, lost at birth.

Marcia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many.  She was caring, kind, welcoming, and loved by all she came in contact with.  Her smile and bright blue eyes lit up a room.
