Maryellen " Sue" Person passed away suddenly on October 16, 2013.

Sue was born in Carthage on October 11, 1941 to Edward & Genevieve Legary Turpin. She was a graduate of Augustinian Academy, Carthage. After graduation she was a waitress at Van's Coffee Shop in Carthage, operated by her Aunt and Uncle, Pete and Rita VandeWater. She also worked for a brief time in the office at St. Regis Paper Co. She married Jerry O. Person on June 5th, 1965 at St. Rita's Church in Deferiet and moved to the west coast. Together the couple operated a home construction business in Auburn, Washington with Sue in charge of bookkeeping.

She was an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jerry O. Person; 3 daughters, Beth (Jesse) Deel, Deneen Person and Erin Person, 2 Granddaughters Stephanie Foote and Genevieve Holstine, a Great- Grandson Damien Hart; a brother Tim (Patty) Turpin, 2 sisters Sharon (Jack) Jones and Julie Turpin; an Aunt, Dorothy Nabywaniec and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn, WA on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd at 2pm. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Carthage on Friday, Oct. 25th at 11:00am with the Rev. George F. Maroun, officiating. Local arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
