IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Francis
Dooley
September 16, 1953 – May 5, 2024
Michael 'Mick' Francis Dooley passed away unexpectedly, May 5, 2024, at his residence in Star Lake, NY. Born September 16, 1953, at E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur, NY, Mick was the son of Arthur F. and Mary J. Dooley. Mick is survived by his son, Brendan and his fiancé Alicia McAnulty, two sisters, Margaret Drappo and Patricia Dooley, and a brother, David Dooley.
Mick is also survived by two former wives, Kathleen Trowbridge Dooley, and Michelle Bowler Dooley. Thank you both for the love and support you provided to him over the years.
Mick had a true passion for music, whether it be listening, playing, or recording. He played bass guitar, as well as sang in many local bands in his earlier days. He was also a talented acoustic guitar and piano player, and loved to "jam" with his son. Mick was about 11 years old when the Beatles came to America, and he played their music all the time. His heroes were John Lennon and John Sebastian. In his later years Mick owned a recording studio named Studio Earth, where he recorded several local artists. Mick also enjoyed golfing and gardening in the summertime.
Mick had a varied career to say the least, having run a bar, obtained a certification in welding, and also became a pharmacist at the age of 36. He graduated from the Albany College of Pharmacy, where his father attended post-WWII. He held several different pharmacy positions in the North Country, including with his father's store, originally Dooley's Drugs.
There will be no calling hours or funeral. A celebration of life will be held at the Carthage Elks Club, June 1st, from 1-3pm, for those wishing to attend. The Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home in Carthage is assisting the family. To leave a condolence, go to www.bezanillafh.com.
