West Carthage - Morris A. Klock, Jr., 60, of 82 Champion St., died Sunday morning, May 3, 2015 at his residence where he was under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Morris was born in Gouverneur on March 16, 1955, the son of the late Morris A. and Beatrice A. Morse Klock Sr. He was a 1973 graduate of Gouverneur High School. He married the former Teresa H. Idzenga on March 17, 1973 at the Gouverneur Methodist Church. He worked on the family farm and later was a herdsman for a large dairy operation in the Southern Tier. The couple returned to Carthage in 1978 and he began his employment with Carthage Papermakers, working as a beater engineer until retiring do to his illness in December of 2014.
He was a member of the BPOE Lodge # 1762 of Carthage. He enjoyed camping, hunting fishing, motorcycling and he was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa H. Klock of West Carthage, one daughter and her husband: Winnie and Eric Newman of Glenfield, two sons and their wives: Gregory and Tricia Klock of Pennellville and Morris and Tracy Klock III of Watertown, 7 grandchildren, Joshua and Austin Newman, Conner and Owen Klock and Caleb, Ryleigh and Faith Klock and an expectant grandson in June; two sisters: Mrs. Ron (Sharon) Mack and Janice Trombley all of Black River and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Linda LaRock.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8th at 5:00 PM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Rev. Jane E. Wagner officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Swinburne Cemetery, Deer River. Calling hours will precede the memorial service on Friday from 2-5pm.
