Carthage - Myron Grant McIntyre, 73, of 36711 NYS Rt. # 3, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his residence where he was under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Grant was born in Natural Bridge on August 7, 1938, the son of the late William and Mazie Killingbeck McIntyre. He attended school in Natural Bridge. He married the former Sheradine (Sherry) Ann Britton on April 22, 1961 at St. James Church with Rev. McCarthy officiating. He was drafted and served in the Army from October of 1961 to October of 1963, serving mainly in Germany. Mrs. McIntyre died on January 22, 1982.
A machinist by trade, he worked for 43 years at New York Air Brake in Watertown and retired in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and cutting wood.
He is survived by his three daughters: Cheryl A. Gebo of Great Bend, Kelly L. (Tony) Thomas of Carthage and Melanie S. (Todd) Gardner of Carthage, one son: Troy W. McIntyre of Carthage, 5 Grandchildren and a Great Grandson, his companion Mary Allen of Watertown, a sister: Mrs. Oliver (Beverly) LaFave of Harrisville and nieces and nephews. A brother, Stanley Wayne McIntyre died previous.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Deacon Richard Staab officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. James Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
