Carthage - Myrtle M. Shaw, 92, of 203 N. James St., died Monday evening, October 13, 2014, in the Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she has been a resident a brief time.
Myrtle was born in Kitchner, Ontario, Canada on August 15, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Ida Schmidt Boshart. She was naturalized a US citizen at a young age and was a graduate of Copenhagen High School. She worked for the New York Telephone Company for many years before joining Climax MFG. She worked in the office in Castorland and retired after several years of service.
She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Harry (Sharon) Baker of Lowville, four grandchildren, Timothy (Jenn) Baker of Connecticut; Robert (Christina) Baker of Lowville; Mrs. Vickie (Shawn) Cannan of Carthage and Heather Lussier of Lowville, 9 Great Grandchildren and1 Great Great Grandchild. She was the last of 7 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16th at 11:00 AM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with the Rev. George F. Maroun, Pastor of St. James Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Copenhagen. There will be no calling hours.
