Obituary

Carthage - Patrick A. Wilton, 84, of 994 Alexandria St., died Friday afternoon, April 18, 2014, in the Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where he has resided since May of 2013.

Pat was born in Great Bend on April 10, 1930, the son of the late John Leonard and Colombe Renaud Wilton. He attended schools in Great Bend and Carthage.  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953.  He married the former Alice A. Adner on September 25, 1954 at St. Paul's Church in Black River.

Pat worked construction prior to working at Fort Drum. He retired in 1985 from the New Jersey National Guard, Fort Drum after 32 years of service where he was an armament foreman.

He was a member of the NYS American Legion.  He loved hunting, fishing and golfing.

Pat is survived by his wife, Alice A. Wilton of Carthage, one daughter and son-in-law: Luanne and David Bowman of Great Bend, three sons and their wives: Leonard and Karen Wilton of Volney, Robert and Lori Wilton of Brooklet, GA and Mark and Chantel Wilton of Watertown, 6 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, one sister: Edith Paquin of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is predeceased by two infant sons, two brothers, Jack and Charles Wilton and two sisters, Marie McBride and Barbara Gross.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Deacon Richard Staab officiating . Burial will be in St. James Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Monday from 4-7pm .
