Paul A. Arquitt, 87, of 7203 Bluebird Lane, Lowville, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 7,2024 at his home in Lowville, surrounded by his family and while under the care of Lewis County Hospice.

Paul was born on September 15,1936 in Carthage, the son of the late William and Marion (White) Arquitt. He attended West Carthage and Carthage High Schools. He married the former Patricia D. Blanchard in the fall of 1958 at the Natural Bridge United Methodist Church. For 40 years, Paul worked at Carthage Papermakers in West Carthage. He began his career on the paper machines and eventually worked as a millwright, retiring in 1999. For many years, the couple lived on North Jefferson St. in West Carthage, then the Rogers Crossing Road, and eventually moved to Lowville in 2013.

Paul was a member of the BPOE Lodge # 1762 in Carthage. He loved the outdoors and he loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed watching boxing, old westerns and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia D. Arquitt of Lowville, one daughter: Amanda Arquitt of Herrings and one son and his wife: Steven and Lori Arquitt of Carthage, one sister: Joanne Spencer of West Carthage, 5 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home in Carthage. A memorial service will begin at 2:00pm with Anne Rohr officiating.
