Paul G. Denise,79, of 401 S. James St. Carthage, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.

Paul was born on October 10, 1944 in Manhattan, the son of the late Paul and Edith (Morgan) Denise. He was a graduate of Pius XII School, Brothers of Holy Cross in Chester, NY.  He served in the Army from 1966 to 1969. While stationed at Camp Drum, he met and later married Nancy J. Genito on May 20, 1967 at St. James Church in Carthage. Nancy passed away on October 21, 2016. Paul started working at the former Crown Zellerbach Corp. in Carthage and retired as a Yard Supervisor for the James River Corp. due to a disability in 1993.

Paul was an active member of St. James Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council # 291 of Carthage. He was an avid bowler, played Border League Basketball and enjoyed golfing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling to the casinos.

He is survived by his two daughters: Janell Denise (Thomas Schroy) of Englewood, FL and Carrie Denise of Ocala, FL, and one son and his wife: Paul (Lou Ann) Denise of Lowville, 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and many Genito family members.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 24 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Todd E. Thibault officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in St. James Cemetery, Carthage.
