CARTHAGE- Paulette Elizabeth Scott, 77, of town of Denmark, died Friday, July 17, 2026, at Wynn Hospital, Utica.

Paulette was born on June 28, 1949, in Watertown, the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Soules) Blackman. She graduated from Watertown High School and went on to cosmetology school in Watertown. Paulette went on to work for Carthage Central School Transportation, where she dedicated more than 30 years as a school bus driver before her retirement.

She married Thomas Michael Scott on September 19, 1970, at Sacred Heart Church in Watertown with Rev. Benoit C. Dostie, officiating.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Tom, their children, Robert T. (Jacqueline) Scott; Tara L. Phillips; her grandchildren, Jarrett (Delaney); Abigale (Billy Rohr); Parker T.; and Vivian P.; her expected great granddaughter, Eleanor Tommie; her brother, Thomas (Linda) Blackman; her two sisters, Joyce Sylvester; Donna Lawler; nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother, Jim (Darby) Blackman, and her two brothers-in-law, Joe Sylvester and Harold Lawler.

Family and friends are invited to call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Deacon Richard J. Staab officiating.

Paulette was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, and a member of Carthage Elk’s Lodge #1762. She loved to sing, whether at home or during family gatherings. Above all else, Paulette treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life.
