Rena (Jean) Clemons, formerly of Carthage, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, in her home in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Jean was born August 1, 1940 in Vilas, NC, the daughter of the late Frank and Rubye Johnson. She graduated from Cove Creek High School in Vilas, NC and attended Nursing School at Duke University, NC, receiving her degree as a registered nurse. She worked many years as a home health nurse in Watertown.


Jean loved spending time with her family and many friends, shopping, going for rides, sitting by the beach, cooking and growing sunflowers.

She is survived by her loving husband, John (Jack) Clemons of Fort Walton Beach, FL, a brother, Bobbie (Ruth) Johnson, Vilas, NC, two daughters Renee Orton and Sandra (Patrick) McCreadie of Carthage, a stepson, Brian Clemons of KY, two step daughters, Yolanda K. Hack and Amanda K. Clemons both of PA, six grandchildren, Nicole Spink of TN, Derek May, Jordon (Erin) Gebo, Jerrica (Ronald) Gamble, Dustin and Paul Orton III, all of NY, two step grandchildren, Ashley and Patrick Hack of PA., nine great grandchildren, Rori, Blake and Lane Gebo, Hailea and Kolton Gamble, Annabelle, Cassandra and Paul Orton IV of NY and Tyson Spink of TN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Jimmy Johnson, a son, Alan L. Segovis and a stepson, Leon P. Segovis Jr.

There were no calling hours or funeral, she wished to be cremated.
