Robert L. Whitney, 77, of 5184 Lumley Road Ext., died Wednesday evening, April 26, 2017 at home while under the care of his family and Hospice of Lewis County.
Robert was born in Richville on November 10, 1939, the son of the late Clifton and Loura (Keyes) Whitney. He married Beverly J. Brothers on October 31, 1959 in Harrisville. He worked for General Sign's and drove dump truck for Marcinko's of Watertown and Les Card in Carthage where he also worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and visiting with his Amish friends.
He is survived by his wife: Beverly J. Whitney of Carthage, three daughters; Mrs. Ricky (Susan) Mashaw of Tennessee, Mrs. Wayne (Tina) Taylor of Harrisville and Mrs. Fred (Debbie) Sauer of Tennessee, 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren, two sisters: Agnes Silsby of Fine and Juanita LaParr of Harrisville and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his two infant daughters, Patricia and Lillian, 2 sisters, Elsie Liscom and Beverly Russell and 5 brothers, Wendell, William, Duane, James and Ronnie Whitney.
His remains will be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse. The family will have an open house, TODAY, April 28th at their home for family and friends. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
