IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosemary A.
Brennan
April 26, 1946 – January 2, 2025
Deer River, NY
Rosemary (Rose) A. Brennan passed away on January 2, 2025, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and caregivers of Lewis County Hospice.
Rose was born in Saranac Lake on April 26, 1946, daughter of Raymond L. Muncil, Sr. and Helen I. Muncil. She grew up in Saranac Lake graduating from Pius X High School in June 1964. Rose earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Watertown in 1968.
Rose began her long-time career as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Hospital in Watertown. She worked as a Registered Nurse for twenty-six years at Watertown Surgical Group. She retired in 2008.
While residing in Watertown, she met the love of her life, Craig Brennan. On February 14, 1970, they married in Saranac Lake. Together they built a life in Carthage and dedicated their time to raising their family.
Rose celebrated the true meaning of care and compassion not only in her career as a nurse, but with everyone she met. She was a dedicated nurse, wife and mother and if she considered you a friend, you were indeed very fortunate. She added sparkle to every family gathering and her door was always open. If you asked her, she would give you sound advice. She was selfless and unflappable, an example of what it meant to be a truly good person. Rose's love for her children and grandchildren was evident in everything she did. Rose shared her love of music playing piano with her daughter Jennifer and grandson Landon. She was often seen cheering on her grandchildren at school sporting events. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters' playing cards and spending time in Watertown shopping with her sister Judy. Rose was often found sitting on her front porch talking on the telephone with her family which brought her much happiness.
Rose is survived by her three children, Jennifer Connor of Watertown, Christopher (Denise) Brennan of Lowville, and Jeffrey (Gloria) Brennan of Carthage; her eight grandchildren Cort, Nicholas, Corey, Landon, Rielly, Nora, Ella and Anna; her brother, Ronald (Carol) Muncil of Morristown, Tennessee; her four sisters, Judy Post of Watertown, Susan (Peter) Van Dien of Saranac Lake, Deborah Hewitt of Saranac Lake, and Darlene (Jerry) McDermott of Morristown, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Craig and her parents Raymond and Helen Muncil, Rose is predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Raymond Muncil, Jr.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and social workers of Lewis County Hospice, Lowville, and friends who were able to visit her at her home before her passing.
