Carthage - Sally R. Kilgore, 77, formerly of 222 State St., passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, July 25, 2015, at the Hospice residence of Jefferson County in Watertown.

Sally was born in Princeton, WV, the daughter of the late Dexter and Evelyn White Redden. She was raised in Tampa, FL and graduated from Hillsborough High School. She attended secretarial school and worked for Lykes Brothers and Borden Dairy in Florida. She married James Wallace Kilgore in February of 1957. Mr. Kilgore died on December 4, 2003. After raising her family, she went back to school, becoming a nurse's aide and worked at the First Baptist Church School in Pinellas Park, FL for many years.


She is survived by one daughter: Lynn Kilgore of Seminole, FL, one son and his wife: Keith E. (Linda) Kilgore of Carthage, two grandchildren, Brianna Elyse Kilgore of Evans Mills and Thomas Wallace Kilgore of Carthage, a brother, Dexter E. Redden of Tampa, Fl and nieces and nephews. A grandson, Jesse M. Kilgore died on October 6, 2008.


Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. James Cemetery in Carthage with her son, Keith E. Kilgore officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home.
