West Carthage - Tara Renee Mastin, 44, of 258 Champion St. Apt. # 308, died early Saturday morning, March 2, 2013, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse where she was admitted Thursday.

Tara was born in Carthage on January 19, 1969, the daughter of the late James P. Mastin and Tamara S. Earle Mastin. She attended Carthage Central School. Tara battled numerous health issues her whole life including Crohn's Disease. She was an avid NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and a NFL fan of the Minnesota Vikings. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter Cristy and her family.


She is survived by her daughter: Cristy Lee Edgbert, 17, of West Carthage, her mother, Tamara S. Mastin of Croghan, a sister: Debra Spencer of Columbus, OH, four brothers: James Mastin of Santa Maria, CA, Michael Mastin of Columbus, OH, Jeffrey Mastin of Brewerton and Marcus Mastin of Black River, her companion, Kevin Stewart of West Carthage and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating. Spring burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours at the funeral home will precede the funeral services on Tuesday from 3-6pm.
