Obituary

Theodore D. Millspaugh, 96, a former resident of Natural Bridge, died Thursday morning, December 20, 2018 at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown.

Ted was born on October 2, 1922 in Binghamton, the son of the late Theodore C. and Helen DuBois Millspaugh. He was a graduate of Norwich High School. He attended St. Lawrence University for one year and then entered the Army Air Corps. He was a 1 st Lieutenant with the 95 th Bomber Group where he was a pilot of a B-17 bomber, flying 32 missions during World War II. He returned to St. Lawrence University after the war and received his bachelor's degree in business. He married the former Cecile Thomson on March 1, 1947 in Canton with the Rev. Theodore DeVries officiating. Cecile died on May 14, 1999. He operated Ted's ESSO in Deferiet for 20 years and then joined New York Air Brake in Watertown where he worked in quality assurance for many years.

He loved spending time with his family, gardening, the Chicago Cubs and was an avid fan of all Syracuse sports teams.

He is survived by his four daughters: Lucille Bridge of Watertown, Martha Burnup of Powhatan, VA, Sarah Harper of Union, OH and Kathleen Millspaugh of Gloucester, VA, and four sons: Rexford T. Millspaugh of Tewksbury, MA, Theodore C. Millspaugh of Ponce Inlet, FL, James D. Millspaugh of New Ipswich, NH and Charles V. Millspaugh of Bisbee, AZ, 17 Grandchildren, several Great Grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Martha Siedlecki of Sacramento, CA.

There will be no funeral or calling hours. His body has been graciously donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home.
