Carthage - Timothy L. Roggie, 67, of 40906 Rogers Crossing Road, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Carthage Area Hospital, Friday, June 24, 2016, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Tim was born in Lowville on April 6, 1949, the son of the late Lansing D. and Alfreda M. Widrick Roggie. He was a 1967 graduate of Carthage Central High School. He married the former Cheryl A. Higman on July 10, 1971 in Naumburg. He worked for over 40 years for Climax Manufacturing in Castorland and Lowville, mainly in the shipping department. He retired in 2011.
Tim was a devout Christian and was a member of the Naumburg Mennonite Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, was an animal lover, member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Roggie of Carthage, one daughter and her husband: Shannon and Michael Schrag of Lowville, 3 grandsons, Collin, Parker and Tanner Schrag, his mother, Alfreda Roggie of Carthage, his mother-in-law, Arlene Higman of Amherst, a sister and her husband: Sharon and Jeffrey Ames of Carthage, two brothers and their wives: Jerry and Sherry and Brian and Linda Roggie, all of PA, and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son, Adam Timothy Roggie who died on March 23, 1986, a grandson, Easton Schrag and a brother, Lynn M. Roggie who died in 2016.
Calling hours are Monday, June 27, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. at the Naumburg Mennonite Church. Burial will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Croghan Mennonite Cemetery. The Memorial service will follow on Tuesday at 11:00 am. at the Naumburg Mennonite Church with Titus Mast and Myron Roggie officiating.
